Earl Grey Tea and its amazing health benefits

Bergamot is a citrus fruit that belongs to the family of oranges. It grows on the ‘Citrus Bergamia‘ plant in the Riggio di Calabria region of Italy and the Mediterranean.

Bergamot unlike oranges is quite bitter in taste, so usually, it is used to extract the essential oil. Bergamot Oil has a heavenly fragrance.

The blend of Earl Grey Tea combines 90% of black tea and 10% of bergamot extract or essential oil. The uniqueness of the tea is the aroma of the bergamot oil.

History of Earl Grey Tea:

It is named after the Second Earl of Grey, Charles Grey, who was also the Prime Minister of England in the 1930s. Its history is quite debatable as historians come across different theories.

Legend has it, that, son of a Chinese tea blender was drowning and Charles Grey immediately sends his stuff to save the boy. Being grateful the Chinese tea blender presented Charles Grey a thankful gift.

The gift was the blend of Earl Grey Tea. Charles Grey loved the flavor and aroma of the tea. He immediately decided to introduce this unique blend in the tea market.
